Snoring
Snoring is a common condition that almost half of us do occasionally and at least one quarter of us do routinely. Because it is so common, we do not think of it as a potentially serious issue. However, snoring can have significant social and medical consequences. At it’s worse, snoring prevents loved ones from sharing the same room. Snoring may also be a sign of sleep apnea, a medical condition associated with high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure. To make matters worse, the snorer is typically unaware of their disturbance to others and may even deny they snore at all. This lack of awareness unfortunately leads to delays in seeking treatment.
