Snoring is caused by excess tissue at the back of your throat that relaxes when you sleep and partially blocks your air passage.
During Coblation Channeling, a specialized wand is inserted into the soft palate and held in place for just 10-15 seconds at a time.
Coblation Channeling decreases the size of the palate and stiffens the floppy tissue responsible for causing your snoring. Your snoring will improve over the next 4 to 6 weeks as the tissue continues to tighten and heal.

  Soft Palate Coblation
Soft Plate Coblation is a snoring treatment that utilizes a unique type of radiofrequency energy to both remove and shrink the tissue of the soft palate. Unlike laser and other radiofrequency devices which only shrink tissue, Coblation works at a much lower temperature, resulting in less discomfort.

Coblation-Channeling is performed in the office under a local anesthetic. A special wand is passed into the tissue of the soft palate and held in place for 10-15 seconds. Approximately three to four passes or "Channels" are made in different areas of the palate to cause reduction. After anesthetic time, channeling takes only about ten minutes to perform and many patients return to work the following day.

Over a period of  six to eight weeks, the palate will stiffen and shrink, lessening the sound of snoring.  Patients will typically require two to three Coblation treatment sessions in order to achieve optimal snoring reduction .  Our practice has been utilizing Coblation technology for the past six years with excellent results.
